Nitti was a lieutenant in Al Capone's organization and he has been portrayed many times in movies and television shows. I know his name from the 1987 movie The Untouchables starring Kevin Costner and Sean Connery. Nitti's name popped into my head the other day and I thought I would make a note of it.
Nitti shows up in The Road to Perdition, a 2002 movie starring Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. This one I have not seen and I do like Hanks' movies, as a rule. In Road, Nitti is portrayed by Stanley Tucci. Well, who is Stanley Tucci, you may ask? He is the actor who portrayed Paul Child in Julie and Julia, the movie that inspired my wife with the idea for this blog.
And so the name Frank Nitti brings us back around to this blog with a few stops along the way.
