I wonder who writes fortune cookie fortunes.
I don't know if you have ever considered this question or not, but you might. Or there's this: Try writing some. In fact, I think I will right now. I will write three fortune cookie fortunes and I will list them with five fortunes found on the 'net. See if you can tell which are which.
1. Fortune smiles for one who walks clean and healthy.
2. Friends, like silver, are valuable to hold and carelessly lost.
3. Do not underestimate yourself. Human beings have unlimited potentials.
4. It could be better, but its good enough.
5. Get your mind set - confidence will lead you on.
6. Doors now open and close. Choose open doors.
7. Remember to share good fortune as well as bad with your friends.
8. What's hidden in an empty box?

My guesses as to which fortunes came from cookies:
ReplyDelete1. Due to the use of 'Fortune' as opposed to the word 'Providence'. Also because 'for' is used rather than the word 'on'.
3. 'Potentials'. Seems written by a non-english speaker.
5. Sounds a little Hyper-Faith.
6. Silly. Was there a time when doors did not open and close?
8. Bizarre enough to be an actual fortune
